Parke County, In. – On February 2 1, 2022, at approximately 1:25 am a Parke County Sheriffs Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle.  The vehicle failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed on to the Rosedale Road traveling south. The driver of the vehicle later identified as Jonathon R. Marcum failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Rio Grande and Rosedale road. Vigo County Sheriffs Deputies attempted to deploy stop sticks in the area of Rosedale Road and Mill Dam Road. Marcum then traveled at over 100 MPH on North Clinton Street in Vigo County, entered Parke County again and took multiple county roads before losing control of his vehicle and striking a tree on Jessep Road in Parke County. Marcum was arrested and transported to the Parke County jail and booked in on the following charges: Resisting law enforcement, criminal mischief, reckless driving, driver never licensed and aggressive driving. A probable cause affidavit has been sent to Vigo County for the crimes that were committed in that county.
