Terre Haute, In. – Terre Haute police executed seven search warrants Wednesday at Greiner Funeral Home and other local sites as part of a massive fraud and theft investigation involving the funeral home. Detectives seized 59 sets of cremains following allegations that owner Gary Greiner failed to place over $550,000 in pre-paid funeral funds into required trusts. While the funeral home’s attorney claims full cooperation, the business remains under a 90-day license suspension. Authorities are urging anyone who purchased pre-paid contracts to contact the Terre Haute Police Department immediately.
