West Central Indiana – A major financial boost is coming to Vigo County as the Duke Energy Foundation announces a new round of community grants. Catholic Charities of Terre Haute is the primary local recipient, securing $33,000 to fund its critical mission of providing food, safe shelter, and personal household items for families in our area. The award will also support the organization’s youth programming, which officials say is vital for helping neighbors navigate financial hardships. Duke also awarded grants to three other organizations—the Vincennes University Foundation, Heart to Heart Inc., and the Isaiah 117 Project—those funds are designated for services in Knox County. Duke Energy Indiana President Stan Pinegar says these shareholder-funded grants aim to “boost the positive impact” of nonprofits that remain on the front lines for Hoosiers in need.
