Basketball coach placed on leave after arrest

The basketball coach who was arrested for public intoxication just hours afters leading his team to the championship of the Wabash Valley Classic has been placed on leave pending an investigation.

Dr. Kathy Goad, superintendent of Linton-Stockton Schools, released a statement today that read, “Coach Joey Hart has been placed on Administrative Leave pending an investigation. This will be Linton-Stockton School Corporation’s only statement on this action, as we are bound by policy on discussing Personnel matters.”

50-year-old Joey Hart was picked up by Clay County deputies Friday at 4:15 a.m. near Coalmont.
