Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges Against Cayuga Man

VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind – Vermillion County 911 received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of CR 1550 North and CR 100 W with a possible plate that belonged to a blue Honda Civic. 

 

Officers found the vehicle parked behind grain bins at the intersection of CR 1350 North and CR 100 West.

 

The car pulled out and was stopped by police.

 

Police say that the driver, 32 year old Christopher M. Hughes of Cayuga, showed signs of Impairment. K-9 Zeus gave positive alerts for the presence of narcotics.  

 

A search of the vehicle discovered a used syringe.

 

Hughes failed sobriety testing and was tested at Union Hospital Clinton.

 

He was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated by a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a syringe.
