Making Sure First Responders Are Prepared For Coronavirus

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. — There have been no reported cases of coronavirus in the Wabash Valley, but Vigo County 911 dispatchers will soon begin using a tool to help first responders if someone might have the coronavirus.

Their system now includes questions for operators to ask about the coronavirus.

This information helps first responders prepare for arriving on the scene.

The county medical director must sign-off on the tool before it’s put to use, which should happen in the next few days.

Those questions will include if you or a member of your family have been out of the country.  That is so first responders can take precautions before they arrive.
