VIGO COUNTY, Ind – Police have released the identity of the person killed Saturday (10/12/19) morning in a car-pedestrian accident.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 41 near Evans Av in front of North Pines Trailer Court.

Vendors were set up in the area for the Covered Bridge Festival.

Witnesses say that Donnetta Pummell of Vincennes apparently stepped into traffic and was hit.

The driver of the vehicle was unable to avoid the accident.

Pummell was flown to Terre Haute Regional Hospital where she later died.

Chemical tests conducted on the driver showed negative results for drugs and alcohol.
