Work On US 40 Bridges Over Snake Creek In Vigo County To Start Monday

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation will be working on the U.S. 40 Bridges over Snake Creek starting on Monday, June 17.  The work on U.S. 40 is scheduled to be completed by July 9.

The contractor plans to begin in the westbound lanes restricting traffic in the left lane to begin strengthening the shoulder to shift traffic during construction.  Then the contractor will be moving to the eastbound bridge.

CLR, Inc. was awarded this contract for $963,360.  This project includes placing a polymeric overlay on these bridges including S.R. 234 over the Wabash River and S.R. 641 over Honey Creek.  The completion date for this project is scheduled for August 31, 2019.

INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a construction zone.
