Sullivan County Woman Arrested On Animal Neglect Charges

SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind – Tuesday morning just after 10 a.m. Indiana State Police, with assistance from the Humane Society of Sullivan County, served a search warrant at 4220 Pine Street in Paxton.

At the home investigators and humane society workers located twenty-six dogs, one rabbit, and two deceased animals (decomposition to significant to determine animal type) from the various buildings on the property.

The animals were living in squalid conditions, and suffering from suspected skin mites, eye infections, and overwhelming filth. The property and buildings smelled strongly of urine and feces.  

Police arrested 44-year-old Heather Renee Allen, on preliminary charges of eight counts of misdemeanor Animal Neglect.
