We invite all enthusiastic dog lovers to join in our Tails & Trails Dog Walk Event on Saturday June 22nd 3:00 PM at our Rosedale Trail Head on the Parke Community Rail Trail at 213 W Central Street in Rosedale, IN. You may come for the fun and exercise of walking your beloved canine on the 1.2 mile round trip paved portion of the trail, or you may also choose to participate in our dog costume contest where the judges will be awarding prizes for the MOST ORIGINAL COSTUME, FUNNIEST COSTUME, and BEST DOG/OWNER LOOKALIKE COSTUME. All dogs must be on a leash during the event.
In addition to the walk and costume contest, the Parke-Vermillion Humane Society will have a representative on-site to give information about the vital work they are performing for our community, and they may even bring along one or two charming pets available for adoption. You may want to consider giving a donation to help support their important mission.
We will have a representative from Parke Trails Alliance, also known as Covered Bridge Gateway Trails Association, to provide information about our continuing efforts to build a walking, hiking and biking trail from Rosedale to Rockville on the old abandoned railroad bed. We may also have updated information on the status of our grant application for funds to complete this work from Indiana’s Next Level Trails program.
Finally, following the dog walk, there will be a brief presentation by Mr. Jack Shannon, professional dog trainer, entitled “Proper Dog Walking Etiquette.” Jack will be available after his presentation to answer any questions you may have about canine behavior and issues that may arise while you are walking your dog.
If you have questions about the event, please contact Dennis Edwards at denniswe48@netscape.net.
