He was born and raised in northeast Indiana and graduated from Indiana University. For over 20 years, he lived in Washington, DC spending the first ten years working on Capitol Hill and the other ten as a lobbyist for the truck stop industry. Scot returned to Indiana in June 2003 when he joined what was then the Indiana Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association. Scot frequently testifies before the Indiana General Assembly regarding industry issues and is sought after on a regular basis by the media for comments regarding gas prices.
