INDIANA – The Indiana Department of Workforce Development has released the county by county unemployment numbers for September.
Only two Wabash Valley counties made the top ten last month.
Vermillion County had the third highest unemployment rate in the state coming in at 4.1% with Vigo County not far behind in fourth place with a rate of 3.7%.
Other Wabash Valley counties:
Sullivan County 11th at 3.5%
Parke County 19th at 3.3%
Clay County at 33rd 3.0%
Putnam County 38th at 3.0%
The highest unemployment rate in the state is in Fayette County in 1st position at 4.4%
The lowest unemployment in the state is in Tipton and Dubois counties with unemployment 2.1%.
