INDIANA – The Indiana Department of Workforce Development has released the county by county unemployment numbers for September.

Only two Wabash Valley counties made the top ten last month.

Vermillion County had the third highest unemployment rate in the state coming in at 4.1% with Vigo County not far behind in fourth place with a rate of 3.7%.

Other Wabash Valley counties:

Sullivan County 11^th at 3.5%

Parke County 19^th at 3.3%

Clay County at 33^rd 3.0%

Putnam County 38^th at 3.0%

 

The highest unemployment rate in the state is in Fayette County in 1^st position at 4.4%

The lowest unemployment in the state is in Tipton and Dubois counties with unemployment 2.1%.
