VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind – Vermillion County Deputies tried to stop a pickup on State Road 71 for speeding when the driver stopped and then jumped out and run into a muddy flooded field.

Police say that 48 year old Tony E. Helton  of Montezuma was  seen throwing items from his pockets before the was arrested and taken to the Vermillion County Jail.

Helton is facing several charges including possession of meth, a syringe, paraphernalia and narcotics.

Helton was released after posting 10% of a $10,000 bond.
