Terre Haute, In. – During a debate over the establishment of the Vigo County Oversight Board at the October 2025 meeting of the Vigo County Council, council members Council President David Thompson and the chairman of the Vigo County Republicans Randy Gentry got into an altercation and had to be separated by Sheriff Deputies. Vigo County Prosecutor Terry Modesitt has asked that a special prosecutor be named to investigate the incident due to the face his chief deputy, Ron Roberts, is a witness in the case.
