Teenagers Arrested After a Multi-County Chase In A Stolen Vehicle

Vigo County, In. – Just before 5 am Saturday morning a mother notified the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office that her 14-year-old son had taken a car and was believed to be heading to Sullivan County to meet with friends. The information was communicated to Terre Haute City Police and Sullivan County Sheriff. A short time later, Terre Haute officers spotted the vehicle at State Roads 46 and 42. The police chased the vehicle until they lost sight of it neat 1st and Hulman streets. Sullivan County Deputies spotted the car and gave chase north bound on SR 63 until the driver lost control and slammed into a tree. The vehicle was occupied by five juveniles with three of the five being reported as runaways. All five juveniles were transported to local hospitals for complaints of pain, but no life-threatening injuries. The two 14-yearold’s face charges of Vehicle theft and Runaway and Runaway and Resisting Law Enforcement with a vehicle. Two 13 year old’s and one 12 year old were released to their parents.
