Terre Haute, In. – Earlier this month the Terre Haute Police Department received a tip that multiple dogs had been recovered by Happy Trails Animal Rescue from a home in the 2600 block of Arleth Street. The dogs were in poor condition and taken to to an emergency vet for treatment. When police investigated they found the to be uninhabitable and that the dogs belonged to 31-year-old Samantha Washburn of Terre Haute. A search of the home found 3 more dogs and 11 cats which were in similar condition. The Indiana Department of Child Services removed three children who were in the home. Washburn is facing charges of animal cruelty.
