Terre Haute, In. – At last nights Vigo County Council meeting (11/12/25) the Council voted to fund the formation of the “oversight committee” for capitol improvements in the Vigo County School Corporation. The Council voted 4-3 with the deciding vote falling on the shoulders of Council Person Vickie Weger who decided to flip her vote. She said, “I just couldn’t say no…You look at those kids, and you know they are the future of the community. So if I caved in, I caved in for the right reasons.” The Vigo County Council will allocate $100K to the Vigo County Commissioners to fund the oversight committee which will be made up of appointments of community leaders at both the county and city level. Funding will come from the Terre Haute Casino & Resort not tax dollars.
