
Terre Haute, In. – The trial dates for accused murderer of Terre Haute Police Detective Greg Ferency has been set. Shane Meehan is charged with premeditated murder of a federal officer, attempted arson on federal property, and using a firearm during a crime of violence, resulting in death. Meehan will stand trial in federal court as detective Ferency was was part of a federal task force in addition to his role as a police detective. Officials say that Meehan ambushed Detective Ferency and another federal agent at the FBI building in Terre Haute on July 7, 2021. Meehan underwent A forensic evaluation to determine his competency to stand trial. The judge has sealed that report. The date Meehan’s pretrial conference is scheduled for September 23rd in Indianapolis. His trial will be in Federal Court in Terre Haute on October 6th.
