Terre Haute, In. – The Vigo County School Board meets tonight at 6 pm in the administration building at 501 W. Olive St. in West Terre Haute. On the agenda is discussion of the Gibraltar feasibility study. The study suggests school consolidation for the county. The Gibraltar study data says that it is possible to consolidate to: 9 elementary schools; 3 middle schools; 1 high school. The school board asked Gibraltar to come up with a “what If” scenario. Gibraltar suggests a new high school with 3,000 students; North/South high schools converted to middle schools; West Vigo High School as a standalone, modernized high school without a middle school; and Sugar Creek Consolidated serving as a middle school.
