Semi Accident With Entrapment Closed I-70

Vigo County, In. – Wednesday afternoon an accident involving two semi’s at the 11 Mile Marker near the State Road 46 Exit closed down all lanes of I-70. Police say that traffic was slowed on the interstate due to a tree that had fallen across the road during the storm. A semi was stopped due to the traffic, another semi didn’t notice the stopped traffic leading to the collision. The driver was trapped in the rig and had to extricated from the vehicle. The Interstate had to be shut down while emergency crews, from several departments worked the accident and to allow the helicopter ambulance to land and fly the injured person to the hospital. The highway was opened back to normal traffic a short time later. No other details are available on the accident.
