
Terre Haute, In. – Sunday evening Terre Haute Fire Crews responded to a fire in the 1100 block of 7th Avenue. Smoke was visible when the Fire Dept. Arrived. They were able to bring the fire under control quickly. The fire was ruled an accident. Then just after 1am Monday fire crews were called out to battle a fire on South Center Street in home that was unoccupied, and utilities were off. When the first crew arrived flames were already coming through the roof. The blaze was so severe that sections of the home collapsed. Crews from the cities waste water division were called in to demolish the dangerous sections of the home still standing. Homes on both side of the home that burned were damaged which caused one family to be displaced. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
