Daycare Investigation Leads to Child Exploitation Charge Against Avon Man
BROWNSBURG, Ind. — A man from Avon is accused of exploiting children at a Brownsburg daycare, and state leaders have shut the facility down while the investigation continues.
Gabriel Garner, 22, was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Hendricks County Jail. He’s charged with molesting a child under the age of 14.
Police say a search of Garner’s phone uncovered explicit images involving children at Main Street University 4 Kidz. Some of the photos, according to investigators, appeared to show interactions between Garner and children at the daycare.
As the investigation unfolded, the Indiana State Police and Family and Social Services Administration stepped in Thursday morning to close the daycare. A letter from the state says the closure follows allegations of abuse and concerns that staff may have failed to report earlier signs of potential harm — something required under Indiana law.
Detectives say they found over 130 images on Garner’s phone that were tied to the daycare through GPS data. They are also reviewing more than 125,000 other pornographic images discovered on the device, though not all are believed to be related to the Brownsburg site.
According to court records, Garner’s behavior during a police interview raised concerns. Investigators described him as visibly anxious and evasive when confronted with the evidence.
