Illinois Man Sentenced In Child Exploitation Case

Jasper County, Il. – A Newton, Illinois man has will do federal time after pleading guilty to sex crimes.  31-year-old Zarchary Nichols of Newton, Illinois plead guilty on two counts sexual exploitation of a child and one count of permitting or assisting by a parent or guardian in the sexual exploitation of a child. Court records show that Nichols reportedly had been sexually abusing a 11 year old child of someone who he was in a relationship with since at least 2016. Officials said Nichols groomed, sexually abused, and raped the child for years – getting photos and video. Officials said Nichols also used meth and gave the child the drug. This continued into the victim’s teen years. The DOJ said Nichols also forced the victim to perform sexual activities with his drug dealer, Dustin Cox – all on camera. Nichols would get drugs in exchange. Nichols was sentenced to 42 years in prison and once released he will be on lifetime supervision.
