Vigo County, In. – The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office has officially welcomed K-9 Paddy, a three-year-old golden retriever specialized in detecting electronic storage devices, to join the fight against online child exploitation. Introduced Wednesday. Paddy is the 263rd dog in the world trained to sniff out the unique chemical compounds found in SD cards, hard drives, and hidden cameras. Sheriff Derek Fell highlighted that the K-9 will be a critical asset for the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) local task force, helping investigators uncover evidence that might otherwise be missed during search warrants. Paddy was donated by the kNot Today foundation and will work alongside his handler, Special Deputy and Terre Haute Fire Chief Darrick Scott.
