Terre Haute, In. – Folks traveling to and from West Terre Haute may want to leave earlier than normal or plan on using I-70 or State Road 62 into Terre Haute for the next few months. Traffic is constricted to one lane on Cherry and Ohio Streets between the river bridges to US 41 while INDOT crews perform a full pavement replacement and modernizing of the intersections. The project also includes installing new traffic signals and pedestrian crosswalks at the Riverside Road Intersection to improve riverfront accessibility. While one lane will remain open in each direction at all times, drivers are warned to expect multiple traffic pattern shifts through the summer. INDOT officials anticipate construction will continue until late August 2026, depending on weather conditions. Motorists are urged to slow down and use extra caution when traveling through the work zone.
