Clay County Teen Shooting Suspect To Be Tried As Adult

Brazil, IN — A 17-year-old Brazil teenager is facing adult charges following an attempted murder investigation that began earlier this month. Henry Gene Slack was arrested after allegedly firing three shots at a moving vehicle on Murphy Avenue on February 12th. Slack was initially held at the Vigo County Juvenile Detention Center due to his age, the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office has since filed the case directly into adult criminal court. Under Indiana law, the juvenile court loses jurisdiction for individuals at least 16 years old charged with attempted murder. The Charges: Slack faces two counts of Level 1 felony attempted murder. A jury trial for the teen is currently scheduled for June 22nd.
