Vigo County, In. – Shortly before 11:30 Saturday night Vigo Sheriff Deputies were notified of a driver driving southbound in the northbound lanes of State Road 63. Deputies located the vehicle between the Bolton Road and Barnhart Road intersections where a deputies vehicle was nearly struck head on. The driver then swerved toward a West Terre Police vehicle nearly striking it. A few minutes later the vehicle was involved in a head on collision with a northbound pickup truck. The driver of the wrong way vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene and the two occupants of the pickup were transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. Alcohol is considered to have played a factor in the accident.
