Montezuma, In. – Shortly after 3am Sunday Parke County Sheriff Deputies responded to a report of a domestic battery on North Washington Street in Montezuma. The 911 caller stated that a baby had been hit in the head. When the Deputies arrived they found the female victim holding a one year old baby. The woman showed evidence of being battered several times in the face and the baby had a visible mark on it’s head. 39-year-old Zachary Gilman was found in a bedroom and taken into custody. Deputies also found Methamphetamine in the bedroom and garage. Gilman was booked into the Parke County Jail and charged with Domestic battery causing serious bodily injury, Domestic battery on a victim was under the age of 14 years old Possession of Methamphetamine.
