Staunton, In. – Thursday Afternoon the Posey Township Fire Department responded to a report of a fire on Green Street in Staunton. Flames and smoke from the fire could be seen all over the town of Staunton. Fire officials said the fire was an illegal burn of the remains of the demolished Methodist Church. Since the burn was an illegal burn the fire department was required to extinguish it. It took crews from five surrounding fire departments to put out the huge fire.
