Terre Haute, In. – Terre Haute Police Sergeant Brad Newman Announce Friday that he is a Republican party candidate for Vigo County Sheriff. Newman served as Vigo County Clerk between 2016 and 2024. Newman joins Steve Ellis on the Republican ballot. On the democratic side of the ballot two candidates have filed. They are current Sheriff, Derek Fell who became Sheriff after the death of Sheriff John Plasse and 13-year veteran Vigo County Sheriff Deputy David C. Ewing. The Primary election is Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
