Terre Haute, In. – The Terre Haute Police Department has issued warning to residents concerning about a scam concerning EBT Cards. Police has received several reports of EBT Cards being emptied after being used at local businesses. They believe card skimmers have been placed on card readers that allow the scammers to take the amount of money on the EBT card leaving it with zero benefits. Many families rely on SNAP benefits to feed their families. The Police Department recommends cardholders use a PIN number to lock the account if they believe they are at risk of having their benefits stolen via card skimming, card cloning, and other similar methods.
