Terre Haute Firefighter Helps Deliver A Baby

Sunday morning off duty Terre Haute firefighter/paramedic Nathan Huyck was in his back yard when he heard a neighbor cry for help. The neighbors Grand Daughter had gone into labor. The baby was already beginning to present when Huyck arrived. Hyuck and his wife coached the mother through breathing and pushing until the baby was fully delivered. The baby not breathing well so Hyuck began stimulating the newborn and clearing its airway and the baby started breathing and crying. The Honey Creek Fire Department and an ambulance soon appeared and the mother and baby were transported to the hospital. Mother, baby and father are all doing well.
