The Week Ahead

INDIANAPOLIS — The heat and humidity stick around again today, with highs reaching the low 90s for the seventh day in a row. Scattered storms will pop up by early afternoon, thanks to the muggy air.

Some spots could see heavy rain, lightning, and strong winds. Not everyone will get storms, but a few showers might last into the evening.

Looking ahead to the weekend, more storm chances remain, but dry stretches are expected as well. Saturday will still be warm but likely won’t hit 90 degrees, finally giving the state a break from the prolonged heat.

Early next week, a bigger system will bring widespread rain and storms Monday. That will clear the way for drier, less humid air arriving by Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday looks to be a comfortable day with lower humidity and milder temperatures.
