
Terre Haute, In. – The deadline for the denial or approval the Certificate of Public Advantage…COPA on the merger of the two Terre Haute hospital was June 21st. Union Health says in a news release that the Indiana Department of Health is continuing to review the COPA application. This was the second application. The first application was withdrawn in November of 2024. This application, the second, was filed in February of this year. The Indiana Department of Health had 120 days to make a ruling. But, according to an addendum to Senate Bill 119, they have until November 9, 2025, to make its decision. The merger has faced opposition. The Federal Trade Commission urged the denial of the COPA and Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita issued a statement of opposition.
