Cayuga, In. – The Indiana OUCC…Office of Utility Consumer Counselor is advising against Duke Energy’s plan to build a new $3.3 Billion gas fired generating plant to replace the coal fired Cayuga Power Plant. The OUCC says 7 witnesses have testified that Duke did not fully explore all available options for power supply and failed to ensure customer affordability. The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission has scheduled a evidentiary hearing on June 19, with a final decision expected later this year.
