
Terre Haute, In. – After meeting with a City Councilman and attending a City Council meeting residents of the Ohio Boulevard neighborhood that are opposed to apartments and a housing development planned for their neighborhood had a chance to meet with the developers last week, The Meeting was held at Dobbs Park. Brian Kooistra representing Gibson Development, Gerald Grable, representing the single family homes and Camden Roembke from the multi-family apartment construction company were ther to talk with residents. The citizens voiced their concerns that the homes and apartments won’t fit into their area along with increased traffic. One of the main objectives was the construction of apartments. Kooistra pointed out that the apartment complex will include a clubhouse, a pool, pickleball and basketball courts and a dog park. Some residents wondered these expensive homes would sell on small lots. Kooistra showed the density of the proposed development was about the same as the rest of the neighborhood. Several Terre Haute City Council members were also on hand to hear public feedback.
