Terre Haute, In. – The election is still a year away but Vigo County Sheriff Derek Fell announced Thursday that he is a candidate for Vigo County Sheriff. Fell became sheriff in August of 2024 after the passing of Sheriff John Plasse. Fell has been a member of the Department for 23 years. Fell says future plans as Sheriff are focusing on community engagement, safety for Vigo County and its citizens, along with law enforcement, and programs for the jail.
