Clinton, In. – Earlier this month Clinton Mayor Jack Gilfoy passed away. The Democratic party in Clinton is now preparing to elect a new mayor. A party caucus is scheduled for 11 am Saturday June 14th at the Clinton Public Library. The president of the City Council is currently serving interim mayor until a replacement is named. Anyone interested in running for the office must contact party chair Joanie Kanizer, in writing, by Wednesday June 11th. Mayor Jack Gilfoy was elected in 2011 and served until his passing. That made him the longest-serving mayor in the city’s history.
