Marshall, Il. – The Marshall, Il. Advocate newspaper published it’s last issue Wednesday. The Owner/Publisher of the Advocate, Gary Strohm, posted on Social Media Wednesday that Today’s issue was the last. The paper has served the Clark County community for 28 years. In his post Strohm said. “when we started, cell phones weren’t in general use and social media didn’t exist.” He went on to say, “that the paper had become more irrelevant to many people with the changing of the times, thus making it hard for small-town papers to stay financially viable. The Advocate has not been immune to this changing landscape and, as such, we must now bid farewell.” Strohm wrapped up his post by saying “We thank you sincerely for your loyalty over the years.”
