Shelburn Man Arrested after Sunday Night Standoff

Sullivan County, In. – Around 9pm Sunday night Police were called to a house on Mill Street in Shelburn concerning gun shots. Police officers found shell casings outside the house when they arrived. The could see someone in the house but no one would answer the door. The person in the house was identified as 43-year-old Danny Pitcher and he continued to refused to answer the door. The Shelburn Town Marshall, Sullivan Sheriff Deputies and Sullivan City Police kept trying to get Pitcher to come out. They tried calling his cell phone and used a PA system to urge him to come out. After a search warrant was obtained they entered the home took Pitcher into custody just after 11pm. He was taken to jail and charged with criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, shooting into a building where people might gather and resisting law enforcement.
