Riley, In. – Several Fire Departments worked together fighting a fire in a large pole barn on Gross Drive near Riley in south eastern Vigo County Saturday afternoon. When the first fire crew arrived heavy smoke flame was visible. Due to the distance to the nearest fire hydrant tankers from multiple departments were called in to shuttle water to the fire. Crews from Riley, Honey Creek, Pierson, Sugar Creek and Seelyville. Transcare had an ambulance standing by but there were no reported injuries. The structure containing several vehicles was reported to be a total loss. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
