Terre Haute, In. – Police were called to the Candlewood Suites Hotel in downtown Terre Haute around 8:30 Monday night on a report of shots fired. Police responded prepared for an active shooter. As the investigation continued the realized it was a single incident carried out by and out of town worker. There was a large police presence in and around as it took many officers to go room to room in the multi story hotel searching for the shooter and evidence. One person of interest was taken into custody and guests at the Hotel were allowed back in their rooms a short time later. The police Department is not releasing anymore information at this time.
