Terre Haute, In. – It was four years ago that 15-year-old Chloe Carroll was shot and killed in the parking lot of the Hoosier Pete gas station.  Thursday her killer was sentenced to 45 years in prison.  In July of 2021 police responded to the parking lot at 13th and Poplar in Terre Haute where they found Carroll in the back seat of a parked vehicle. She had been shot and was taken to Union Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The investigation led them to Montez Ellington Jr. He was arrested and charged with her murder.  Initially he pleaded not guilty but in March of this year he pleaded guilty and agreed to a 45-year sentence. Ellington will get credit for the four years he has been in jail.
