Sullivan, In. – The Indiana State Police announced on Monday that they have arrested
a third man in connection to the murder of 85-year-old retired farmer Lowell Badger in
his Sullivan County home in December of 2012. Last year William Ray Grimes and
Richard D. Taft were arrested and charged with Badgers murder and with burglary.
Monday 35-year-old Grimes was arrested. Arthur Lee Grimes is the brother of WIlliam
Ray Grimes. One of the statements to police says that Taft took a gun from the others
and shot Badger. However, a different individual stated that Arthur Grimes took the gun
from Taft and said he would show Taft “how it was done.” He then, reportedly, shot and
killed Badger.
