Terre Haute, In. – The city of Terre Haute has launched a plan aimed at reducing serious-injury and fatal crashes on city streets called “Safe Streets Terre Haute.” Funded by a $200,000 grant from Safety Streets and Roads for All grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. Monday’s press release states that the focus will be directed toward vulnerable road users including pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists, children, the elderly and people with disabilities.  The city will use Safety Streets and Roads for All a collaborative approach, which incorporates data analysis and emphasizes stakeholder engagement and public outreach.  The city’s project team will be available at the library an hour before and an hour after the legislative Crackerbarrel session this Saturday to discuss “Safe Streets Terre Haute.”
