Parke County, In. – Monday Parke County Deputies were dispatched to e residence in Marshall, Indiana on a report from a female saying that her mother’s husband was choking her mother. As the deputies arrived the suspect was attempting to leave the residence in a vehicle.  The Deputies were able to take the suspect into custody.  He was identified as 53-year-old- David Charles Smith of Marshall.  The female victim was found in the home and required medical assistance. As the deputies investigated, they found that Smith had battered his wife in a bathroom with multiple objects and at one point, was on top of her and strangled her until she almost lost consciousness. Smith was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery and Strangulation. He was booked into the Parke County Jail and held without bond.
