Multi County Police Chase On I-69 Results In An Arrest

Daviess County, In. – The Indiana State Police report that a 32-mile chase on I-69 started in Gibson County finally ended in Daviess County Thursday afternoon. A State Police trooper attempted to stop a ruck for a traffic violation but instead of stopping the driver took off. During the chase the driver avoided stop sticks near Oakland City, hit stop sticks deployed in Pike County bur was able to continue into Daviess County where he flipped his truck trying to avoid another set of stop sticks.  The driver was identified as 24-Year-old Brice Alkema of Indianapolis.  He was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.  It was determined that Alkema was under the influence of drugs. Alkema is now lodged in the Gibson County Jail.
