ISU PD Ready For Special Olympic Crowds

Terre Haute, Indiana – The Indiana Special Olympics return to the campus of Indiana State University this weekend when more 2,000 athletes from throughout the state will be descending on Terre Haute for the 55th annual Special Olympics.  The ISU Police say they are ready.  The department will have extra officers working to assist with traffic flow on campus and downtown.  Citizens are advised that traffic on campus and downtown will be busier than usual, and many streets will be closed. First Street will be closed from Cherry Street to Sycamore Street and athletes will be crossing 3rd street to get to the track and field complex and drivers are urged to be cautious.
