West Terre Haute Police Officer Shoots an Aggressive Dog

West Terre Haute, In. – Tuesday the West Terre Haute Police were called to investigate dogs running free and chasing and trying to bite children as they would get off the school bus. Officers arrived at Johnson Ave. & Arthur Place and observed 2 dogs that bystanders said were aggressive dogs. One of the officers approached the dogs and reached down to pet the small one when the other lunged and barked at him.  The officer offered his hand to the dog and tried to calm it but it continued to lunge and snap at him as he tried to shoo it away and kick at it, the dog continued to be aggressive lunging and trying to bite him.  That’s when the officer pulled his service weapon and shot and killed the dog.  The owner was notified.  The incident was recorded on the police Dash Cam
