Duke Energy Foundation Gives Money To Local Summer Education Programs

VIGO COUNTY, Ind – On Monday Duke Energy announced that it is awarding over $311,000 in grants to support K-12 education in Indiana.

Locally Chances and Services for Youth has been awarded $11,000 to host a camp to reduce the “Brain Drain” in Vigo County by engaging area students.

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology was awarded $10,000 to provide a summer professional development opportunity for 6-12th grade STEM teachers.

The South Vermillion Summer Reading Club will receive $15,000 to invite incoming Kindergarten students to the Kindergarten Round-Up reading program.

The Vigo County School Corporation will received $15,000 to serve all kindergarten through second grade students during the summer to enhance the STEM curriculum.
